Medical Massage
A Therapeutic Art Redefined
At Mid-Valley Chiropractic Allied Health Sciences, medical massage represents the union of art and clinical science. Our Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) collaborate directly with our Chiropractic Physicians to provide medically directed massage therapy — an evidence-based, diagnostically informed approach that restores movement, reduces pain, and supports long-term healing.
This is care designed with you, not just for you — grounded in anatomy, guided by communication, and tailored to your body’s current needs and capacity for change.
Where Collaboration Drives Results
Integrated Care with a Clinical Purpose
Every medical massage session begins with communication between your chiropractor and your massage therapist.
Your therapist reviews your chiropractic evaluation, imaging notes, and current progress before designing a targeted soft-tissue plan that addresses the specific muscles, fascia, and functional chains contributing to your diagnosis.
This seamless teamwork allows us to provide treatment that not only feels effective but is effective — because it is delivered within the structure of a coordinated, medically supervised care plan.
Expertise Beyond the Ordinary
Massage Professionals Selected for Mastery of the Human Form
Our LMTs are chosen for their clinical reasoning, anatomical mastery, and technical precision — qualities that set them apart from conventional massage providers.
Working in concert with your chiropractor, they employ advanced techniques such as:
Myofascial release and neuromuscular re-education
Trigger point and cross-fiber therapy
Rehabilitative stretching and soft-tissue mobilization
Lymphatic drainage and circulation support
Every method is intentional, evidence-based, and safely applied under direct clinical oversight.
This collaboration transforms massage from a wellness service into a therapeutic intervention.
Professional Scope and Standards
Licensed Massage Therapy in Oregon
In Oregon, Licensed Massage Therapists are recognized healthcare professionals within the allied health system. Their regulated scope of practice includes assessment and treatment of the body’s soft tissues to improve motion, relieve pain, and restore balance.
At Mid-Valley Chiropractic, our LMTs operate within a diagnostic framework established by your managing chiropractor — ensuring safety, accountability, and compliance with state law.
Clarity and Confidence in Coverage
Convenient In-House Referral and Billing
Because your evaluation, prescription, and treatment all occur in one location, patients benefit from the convenience of seamless in-house coordination.
When medically necessary, your chiropractor can evaluate, document, and refer you for massage treatment — no external appointments or paperwork required.
We are pleased to bill insurance as a courtesy when coverage is available.
Medical massage may qualify for reimbursement under the supervision of a licensed chiropractor for conditions such as:
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) following motor vehicle accidents
Select Moda Health, PacificSource, and BlueCross BlueShield plans
Employer-based or government employee plans (including courthouse and law enforcement)
Additionally, HSA and FSA accounts can be used for prescribed medical massage services.
Therapeutic massage, by contrast, is not insurance-eligible, as it is considered wellness care without a documented medical diagnosis. If you wish to use insurance, your provider will first perform an evaluation and issue a clinical referral for medical massage.
Safety, Comfort, and Accessibility
Technology That Honors Every Body
Our massage suites are equipped with automated hi-lo tables to optimize positioning and ease of access.
Dr. Aptecker’s ADA-approved table provides effortless transitions for those with mild mobility challenges.
However, our facility is not equipped with a Hoyer lift, and we are unable to safely accommodate individuals who cannot assist in transferring to and from a mobility device. We remain committed to comfort, dignity, and safety for all patients within our capacity.
Beyond the Table
Reinforcing Healing at Home and at Work
Following your session, your therapist or chiropractor may recommend:
Gentle movement or stretching
Postural or workplace ergonomic modifications
Hydration and recovery strategies
Temporary anti-inflammatory nutrition or over-the-counter support
These simple, targeted recommendations extend the impact of your care — helping your results last long after you leave the clinic.
Healing, Elevated
Where Medicine and Mastery Converge
At Mid-Valley Chiropractic Allied Health Sciences, medical massage isn’t a luxury — it’s part of a continuum of care that bridges the gap between art and evidence.
With every session, our team delivers integrative, intelligent, and individualized treatment that restores balance to both structure and spirit.
